WhiteCore Mountboard – FATG Conservation Level
The surface and backing papers: Made from chemically treated pulp using high pH sizing and is lignin-free; It measures a minimum of 3 on the Blue Wool Scale; Buffered with calcium carbonate (minimum 3% by weight); Water soluble extracts are minimal i.e. chloride below 0.05% and sulphate below 0.25%. For extra defence it contains a buffer of calcium carbonate to guard against contamination by air-borne acid for the life of the board
The Core: High-quality alpha cellulose, lignin-free and bright white throughout; Buffered with calcium carbonate (minimum 3% by weight); Passes the silver tarnish test and photographic activity test making it suitable for the long-term mounting of precious photographs.
Adhesive: Aqueous PVA with neutral pH; Buffered with calcium carbonate (minimum 3% by weight); Plasticiser-free
CottonCore Mountboard - FATG Museum Level: For any item requiring the very highest levels of protection, such as old, valuable artifacts, ideal for conservation and museum framing, which when combined with the controlled buffer additions, is suitable for photographs.
CottonCore is made entirely from 100% pure cotton fibres (naturally lignin-free), holding the maximum alpha cellulose values; Only natural pigments are used which are fade and bleed resistant. It measures a minimum of 5 on the Blue Wool Scale; Water soluble extracts are minimal i.e. chloride below 0.05% and sulphate below 0.25%; Buffered with calcium carbonate (minimum 3-5% by weight); Passes the silver tarnish test and photographic activity test making it suitable for the long-term mounting of precious photographs
Adhesive: Neutral pH; Buffered with calcium carbonate (minimum 3-5% by weight); Plasticiser-free.
